WEEKS 10 DATE:16 DECEMBER 2023 TOPIC: Granding of plants, hardening off and transplanting INTRODUCTION Plants are prepared for the shift to outdoor conditions through hardening off, transplanting entails moving plants to their final growing positions, and grading assures uniformity in plant quality. These methods are essential for successful gardening and landscaping projects at different phases of the plant production cycle. OBJECTIVES -planting seeds indoors before the weather is suitable outside in order to extend the growing season. - protecting young plants from diseases and pests until they are established. - It is possible to prevent germination problems by using seedlings instead of direct sowing.\ TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT -GLOVES -PRUNING SHEAR ACTIVITY 6.00 A.M -6.20A.M -Subuh prayer's at surau 6.20 a.m -7.20 a.m -gather at the rollcall place according to their respective batches -do morning exercise -take student attendance 7.20a.m-8.20a.m -gathered at agrotech -sang 3 song...

WEEKS 9 DATE :8 DECEMBER 2023 TOPIC:PRUNING INTRODUCTION Pruning in oil palm cultivation requires careful consideration of the tree's growth stage, local climatic conditions, and disease prevalence. When conducted with precision and timing, pruning contributes to the overall health, productivity, and sustainability of oil palm plantations. Proper training of plantation workers and adherence to recommended practices are essential for successful pruning in oil palm cultivation. OBJECTIVES - Can learn how to properly prune oil palm -be able to recognise and operate pruning tools TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT ACTIVITY 6.00 A.M -6.20A.M -Subuh prayer's at surau 6.20 a.m -7.20 a.m -gather at the rollcall place according to their respective batches -do morning exercise -take student attendance 7.20a.m-8.20a.m -gathered at agrotech -sang 3 songs namely National Anthem, Wawasan Setia Warga UITM and Planter's Song -The lecture explains about the task for this week 8.20a.m -10.30a.m -Move to pl...

FPA150 WEEKS 8 DATE:1 DECEMBER 2023 TOPIC:PROPAGATION TECHNIQUE INTRODUCTION This week, we were given the task to make plant propagation. The process of sexually or asexually reproducing plants to produce new individuals is known as propagation. It is essential to horticulture, agriculture, forestry, and landscaping because it promotes the growth of desired plant features, maintains genetic diversity, and produces plants effectively for a range of uses. To accomplish successful reproduction, a variety of propagation techniques are used, each appropriate for a particular plant type and objective.  OBJECTIVE - in order to increase the plant's population while maintaining its key traits. -Aid in the vegetative parts of older plants being grown into new plants. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT ACTIVITY 6.00 A.M -6.20A.M -Subuh prayer's at surau 6.20 a.m -7.20 a.m -gather at the rollcall place according to their respective batches -do morning exercise -take student attendance 7.20a.m-8.20a.m -...

WEEKS 7:WEED,PEST AND DISEASE CONTROL

DATE :24 NOVEMBER 2023 WEEKS :7 TOPIC:WEED,PEST AND DISEASE CONTROL INTRODUCTION This week, we were given the task of identifying weeds.Weeds are one of the reasons why the plants we plant can't keep sunlight. Controlling diseases, weeds, and pests is essential to contemporary agriculture. It is essential to implement integrated and sustainable management strategies in order to minimise the ecological footprint of agricultural activities, ensure food security, and maintain crop health. For agricultural systems to be successful over the long run, it is imperative that environmental stewardship and the requirement for effective control are balanced. OBJECTIVES: -To manage different types of pests and disease carriers -To lower the level of economic harm caused by pests TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT -gloves -straw hat ACTIVITY 6.00-6.20am Subuh prayer's at surau 6.20 -7.20a.m -gather at the rollcall place according to their respective batches -do morning exercise -take student attendance 7...

FPA150 WEEKS 6 DATE :10 NOVEMBER 2023 TOPIC :FERTILIZER APPLICATION & WATERING INTRODUCTION: This week, we have learned about fertilizer application and watering. Fertilizer application and watering are essential practices in agriculture and gardening that play a crucial role in promoting plant growth, health, and productivity. These practices are fundamental components of proper plant care and are often key factors in achieving optimal yields and maintaining the overall well-being of plants. OBJECTIVES -To lessen the nutrient pollution of farming areas' water bodies caused by manure. -To illustrate the technology based on duckweed's increased sustainability and efficiency. -To lessen the environmental effects of producing animal protein, including its carbon footprint.  FPA 150 WEEKS 5 DATE:3 NOVEMBER 2023 TOPIC:SEED HANDLING INTRODUCTION We are learning how to treat seeds by handling them as part of this week's assignment. Our lecturer asked us to gather coffee beans from the coffee plot the day before the fieldwork session in order to treat the seeds. The purpose of the seed treatment is to stop pests and diseases that spread through seeds and to promote early germination. We are using the soaking method to treat the seeds. After the coffee was peeled to extract the seeds, we soaked them in a fungicide called Thiram and added water to create a solution. Once the soaking process was complete, we placed the seeds in a polybag containing a mixture of soil that OBJECTIVES Seed handling is a critical aspect of agriculture and plays a vital role in ensuring successful crop production. Seed handling contributes to the overall success and sustainability of agricultural practices, ensuring the availability of high-quality seeds for farmers and contribu...
